A Time for Giving: Single Moms

Good morning ShoutOUTers. Hope everyone’s having a wonderful weekend!

If you’re looking for a way to give back in our community this holiday season, here’s an opportunity for you.

I’ve been picking up stocking-stuffers for the 12 single moms at Shepherd’s Village, a local non-profit organization in Belleair Bluffs that provides a safe place for single moms and their kids to start over after the loss of a spouse/parent, divorce, bad situation, etc.

Gift Bags
If you’d like to add items to the gift bags I’m pulling together, just private message me on Facebook, or send me an email to heather@shoutoutinc.com and I’d be thrilled to coordinate pickup or delivery of the items. Here are just a few ideas, but feel free to get creative: gift cards, jewelry, handmade items, socks, cocoa, food items, knick-knacks, etc.

Being a single mom myself, this organization is near and dear to my heart. I had the incredible support of my family, my mom and grandfather, providing me a place to live when I divorced, and my mom and little brother helping babysit while I worked and went to school. It wasn’t easy going to school, working, and raising my daughter, but thanks to my family, it worked. And until I got re-established, I wasn’t able to have a place on my own. Shepherd’s Village is a place for single moms to live while raising their kids, working, and continuing their education. It provides single moms a safe place to start over, get re-established, and give their kids and themselves a better life.
Don’t worry. The kids are being taken hooked up for the holidays too. Bender Chiropractic Center on Indian Rocks Road in Belleair Bluffs and Sardo’s Pizza on Ulmerton in Largo are both collecting unwrapped toys for the kids, so if you would like to make the kids’ holidays more special those are two drop-off points.
To coordinate pickup or drop-off of stocking-stuffers for the 12 moms, please private message me on Facebook or just send me an email at heather@shoutoutinc.com and we’ll go from there.

Thanks in advance everyone!!!!
