  • Also known as the “Turtle Park” for its abundant aquatic turtle population, The Narrows Environmental Education Center is located in McGough Nature Park along the Intracoastal Waterway.  The center houses live animal exhibits and hands-on activities for children. The park also offers several environmental education programs.

Place visited by ShoutOUTShoutOUT Visited: This is one of my favorite local parks to go to. They have trails that lead out to the waterfront and boardwalk overlooking the Intracoastal. Plus, they have a rescue center for injured animals, especially birds of prey. Everything from screech owls to kestrels, hawks to eagles. There’s a playground for kids, picnic facilities, live animal exhibit in the Nature Center, picnic facilities, and turtle ponds.
