Straz Center’s Patel Conservatory presents Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.

Tampa, Fla. – The Patel Conservatory at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts will present a fully produced version of Disney’s Aladdin, Jr., in TECO Theater, June 25-28.

Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. takes audiences to the mystical land of Agrabah, where a resourceful young Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and the wise cracking Genie come to life in this stage adaptation of one of Disney’s most popular animated movies.

Directed by Matthew Belopavlovich, Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. will be performed by students in grades two through six, after three weeks of full-day camp sessions including rigorous music study, and theater and dance rehearsals.

This hour-long show features the Academy award®-winning score by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and is sure to have audiences singing along with memorable tunes like A Whole New World and Friend Like Me.

Performances are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m. Regularly priced tickets to Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. start at $20 and may be purchased by calling 813.229.STAR (7827) or 800.955.1045 outside Tampa Bay, in person at the Straz Center Ticket Office or online at www.strazcenter.org.
