Disclosure: Black Rock Bar & Grill generously treated me and a guest to a complimentary meal and invited me to participate in the Grand Opening of their newest location in Carrollwood in order to provide my honest opinion on the experience. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own and based completely on my own thoughts and experiences.

Black Rock wasn’t kidding when touting an evening at their restaurant as “more than a meal, it’s an experience!” The Black Rock Bar & Grill is definitely that and one that you should experience, soon.

Located in the trendy Main Street Shopping Center in Carrollwood, the newest location of Black Rock Bar and Grill offers a truly unique dining experience. I was beyond ecstatic to be invited to their August 23rd Grand Opening and reveled in a meal that was both sumptuous and unforgettable. My mouth is still watering from the experience.

Before I even arrived, I knew at least one thing I HAD to try. Their steak. Why? Because THIS was part of the experience! Their steaks and seafood are served to your table on a sizzling hot lava stone – 755 degree crackling hot! You then cook your steak (or seafood) to the ideal temperature – medium for my steak, please! Just cut off a morsel, sizzle 20 seconds each side (for medium), then bite and moan!

Their Signature Black Rock Certified Angus Steak Sirloin was simply heaven! So plump and juicy, this tender center cut of delight melted on my tongue and made my taste buds sing a “hallelujah” chorus. Paired with the sizzling burgundy mushrooms. Truly. Rapturous.

There were so many blissful moments and morsels, like the Spinach & Artichoke dip. Cheesy and smooth, served with a side of pita “chips” that were simply savory. Oh, and the sweet potato fries! Have mercy! Thickly cut, gently dusted with cinnamon and sugar, served with a rich caramel dipping sauce. Oh my goodness! And the pièce de résistance – DESSERT! Grandma’s Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp. The perfect marriage of Granny Smith apples and crumbled oats, delicately drizzled with ribbons of caramel and a side of vanilla ice cream. SWOON!

This “Australia-style Rock Cooking” at Black Rock is truly a unique affair, for any occasion. The healthy portions, fresh ingredients, delicious entrées, flavorful appetizers, and delectable desserts will have you coming back for more. Their extensive menu and fully-stocked bar will have you strategizing your next meal. The Monster French Onion Soup and Deep-dish Cheese Cake are on my list for “Round 2”.

Visit the new Carrollwood location at 11702 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, Florida 33618 and be sure to peruse their menu before you go: http://www.blackrockrestaurants.com/menu

Thank you Black Roll Bar & Grill for inviting me and the incredible experience!
